In celebration of Día de los Muertos, the HAS PTA invites our families to help us create a special school community ofrenda honoring and remembering loved ones who are no longer with us.
Families are invited to create a small altar or nicho at home that celebrates the life and memory of a loved one, friend, pet, or historical figure.
Your altar or nicho can include a photo or illustration, marigolds or other flowers, papel picado, favorite foods, meaningful objects, or other decorations that celebrate the person’s life and memory.
The individual altars and nichos contributed by our families will come together to create a beautiful HAS community ofrenda, celebrating the memories, traditions, and stories that connect our school community.
Completed altars and nichos are due by Friday, October 23rd.
Be sure to label your creation with your child’s first and last name and teacher’s name.
